Methods of Childbirth
Expecting the day of childbirth is usually characterized by mixed feelings. Every pregnant woman is very excited about becoming a parent and hardly waits the day when she will be able to hold the baby she is carrying. However, many women have fear from the pain at labour but also from eventual complications. For that reason the vast majority of pregnant women takes different methods of childbirth very seriously.
Women during childbirth experience different levels of pain, while the majority
describes pain in contractions like a very strong menstrual cramp. Fear from the
pain at labour greatly varies from woman to woman, while the majority of pregnant
women is very interested in different methods of reducing pain. Lately has become
very popular epidural analgesia which provides relatively fast pain relief, while
many women prefer other methods of alleviating labour pain without use of analgesic
medications such as water birth. All methods to alleviate labour pain that are
offered in the hospitals are relatively safe both for the mother and baby but since
there is always a certain possibility that something goes wrong especially if pain
medications are involved a lot of women still prefers to give birth on the old
fashion way.
In deciding between different methods of labour to alleviate pain is very important to be well informed over whole procedure, to compare the benefits with potential side effects and complications but in first place is necessary to take into account the effects on the baby. After all pain is only temporarily, while eventual complications can result in permanent consequences for both the mother and her baby.
